Partitioning Project

Our client required new workshops and offices in a new additional unit that the business acquired. In particular, they needed to accommodate the expansion of the business at Basildon.

The project was for the design and installation of a new partitioning system on the ground floor and on a mezzanine floor.  The design also required 60 minute fire protected escape routes from the mezzanine floor.

The installation of demountable partitions formed a workshop area to the ground floor, 3 workshop areas to the mezzanine floor, 1 office and boardroom. Moreover, the work included the installation of a new ceiling to all areas on the mezzanine floor.

The client has now occupied the new site and is delighted with the prestigious look of the partitioning.  In addition, the demountable design of the partitions has allowed for minor changes to be accommodated since occupation.

This has also lead to additional work in their original site.

Mezzanine Floor Project

Meridian Zero is a leading UK marine distributor, supplying marine and water sport retailers, boat builders and yards with high quality products sourced throughout the world.

Due to expansion of the business they were moving to a new larger site. There they required the installation of a mezzanine floor for bulk storage and order picking shelving on the ground floor.The project was for the design of a new mezzanine floor to cover approximately 70% of the available floor space. This was complete with access staircase and intermediate stairs to give access to the existing first floor offices directly from the mezzanine floor. 

Additionally, Romstor supplied Longspan racking to supplement their existing racking to allow full use of the ground floor picking area.

The client was pleased with the installation which was installed prior to their move. This meant minimal disruption to their business and allowed for an easy transfer of stock to the new site.

Pallet Racking Project

Specflue are the UKs No.1 supplier of flue and chimney products for gas, oil and solid fuel systems. The continuous expansion of its customer base and its new product lines have contributed to a quick development of the company. With over 8,700sqm of warehousing in Suffolk, Specflue holds in excess of £3m of products, the largest in the UK. 

Their Distribution Manager called us in to look at a new project. Because of their fast expansion, they needed additional storage on a seasonal basis for their products. So they were looking at a warehouse across the road from their main premises.

Moreover, their manager asked us to Design a Pallet Racking Installation for half of the warehouse. This would accommodate the Seasonal increase of their products consisting mainly of Wood Burning Fires and ancillary products. This also opened an opportunity to rent out the storage space to local companies during the off peak times.

We offered them a solution that gained their interest. Romstor won the order based on cost, design, delivery and installation time. The distribution manager was pleased with our work and the result of the project. Thus, we were called in again a year later and received a second order for the extension of the installation to cover the entire warehouse.
